Jake Rigney

Jacob T. Rigney is a founding partner at Rigney Law LLC. Jake graduated from Rushville Consolidated High School in 1996 and earned a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Rhetoric from Franklin College in 2000. He received his J.D. from Indiana University in Bloomington in December 2002, graduating early.

Jake began his legal career in the Marion County Prosecutor’s Office as a misdemeanor deputy prosecutor, rising to major felony supervisor. After more than 10 years with the Prosecutor’s Office, he opened The Law Office of Jacob Rigney in 2015. In 2017, Jake and his wife, also a former prosecutor, joined forces to create Rigney Law LLC.

Jake practices exclusively in criminal defense, along with related matters such as expungements and driver license rehabilitation. Outside of work, he enjoys golf, guitar, and spending time with his daughter, Eleanor.

Kassi Rigney

A. Kassi Rigney is a founding Partner at Rigney Law LLC. Before founding Rigney Law LLC, Kassi was a Deputy Prosecuting Attorney in Marion County for nearly 12 years, prosecuting cases ranging from simple misdemeanors to manufacturing methamphetamine. Her primary focus was drug offenses, practicing in Major Felony Drug Courts for 8 years. During this time, she trained attorneys and police personnel on drug crime cases and investigations, including writing and lawful execution of narcotics and firearm-targeted search warrants. Kassi ended her tenure as a prosecutor handling civil asset forfeiture cases.

Kassi is almost exclusively a criminal defense attorney, representing people charged with or convicted of crimes. She also represents people before the Indiana Parole Board and helps with Driver License Rehabilitation and Expungement cases.

Teri Muehlhausen

Teri Muehlhausen is the producer and a co-host of Tales from the Brown Desk. She handles the day-to-day work that keeps the show running — coordinating recording sessions, organizing research, editing episodes, and getting each one ready for release.

Before producing the podcast, Teri built a diverse professional background. She served in the U.S. Army as a sergeant and drill instructor, later worked as a paralegal, and has experience as an IT specialist and marketer. She currently works for Cirkuit Networks and also serves as a home health aide for a disabled family member.

Teri was part of the original Tales from the Brown Desk team and returned in 2026 to help relaunch the show. She brings organization, discipline, and practical experience shaped by military service, legal work, and technical roles.
